Bible Journal Page with D2BA

September 7, 2017 |  by  |  Bible Journnaling, Doodling  |  No Comments

This week I am in overwhelmed mode. Projects left and right all stacked up, all good, but overwhelming. So when the devotional that I received via e-mail seemed to speak directly to me to slow down, take a breath and start fresh, I figured I better pay attention. So to start re-freshing my devotional/worship time I slowed down to create a Bible Journaling page. I used a stamp set and ink from Dare 2B Artzy.

I used both the Be Yourself stamp set and the Totally Black Premium Ink. Then SHHHH! I did not use Copics this time I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens for this particular entry.

I stamped one birdie, some music notes and a phrase in the margin of my page:

Then I added color. I used my pens and also a water brush for a beautiful water color effect. The ink sat tight with no smearing! Gotta love a good ink!

I added my journaling and also a few small do-dads. The page needed very little added around the beautiful stamps.

I am truly enjoying being part o the design team over at Dare 2B Artzy, even though I am busy right now this has been such a wonderful infusion of fresh inspiration and time for art. Here is one last peek at the sweet birdie:

Thank you for stopping by! Make sure to check out more of the inspiration and beautiful supplies over at Dare 2B Artzy when you can!

I am excited to be showcasing one of the new stamp sets from Dare 2B Artzy, Playful Posies. This stamp set is so very versatile!

I’ll let you in on a little secret, I am not really a card maker or stamper I just pretend to be one for work! I LOVE all kinds of art and crafting, and have played with card making and stamping, but did not really get serious about it until I started working for Imagination International, Inc. (Better known to most as Copic) That being said I just do not have a huge store of stamping supplies and tools. I am slowly collecting like any good crafter the things I “need” for this craft, but in the mean time I am making due with what I do have.

With this layering set one of the really fun things to do is to layer colors of ink with the different pieces, but I do not have different colors of ink, so my solution as always is Copic! I decided to stamp my bottom layer with Copic and then added black ink on top. I added a few doodles in white on top as well.

Once the images are ready I got them all fussy cut and added them to a card using papers from the “Artsy Doodles” paper pack.

Here is a closer look at some of the details.

Best part yet, I did it all on video! So you can see me, mistakes and all, experimenting with the stamping process. Spoiler Alert it took me more then once to get the flowers just how I like them. The video is over at Copic In The Craft Room on YouTube and you can find it at the link below.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, make sure to stop by the other designers for Dare 2B Artzy they are all playing along today!

Your next stop in the hop is Chris blog!

We hope you are inspired all along the way!

Fine Sketch Nibs Hooray!

July 24, 2017 |  by  |  Copics, Doodling  |  No Comments

After years of asking they finally arrived. Copic Sketch markers have a fine nib option! If you wanted to doodle, write or fill in those super tiny corners on your intricate stamps you now have a great option with the Fine Sketch Nib!

I have this beautiful new stamp from Dare 2B Artzy that just screams to be colored and all those tiny details seem to be designed for a fine nib. So to start I chose with markers I wanted to switch out.

The Fine Sketch Nib works ONLY in the Sketch marker and ONLY in the end with the chisel nib. So I selected a group of 4 markers I wanted to switch out. I could use my fingers to pull out the chisel nib, it is fairly easy, but I had my tweezers near by so put those to good use and gently pulled out the chisel nibs.

Next I slid the new Fine Sketch Nibs all the way in. The ink from the core seeps right into the new nib and I am ready to color!

Excuse my messy markers they are in need of a little TLC!

I colored up my image and added it to a card front, easy peasy. No shading this time just coloring and the fine nibs are perfect for this!

You can find the Fine Sketch Nibs at Imagination International, Inc. and other Copic distributors. They come in packs of 3 nibs for 5.95. You might want to switch out a few of your markers as well!

Thank you for stopping by this week! If you would like to see a few more Copic artists featuring these great new nibs head over to Copic In The Craft Room on Facebook. I will be hooking you up with lots of great blog inspiration and more Fine Sketch Nib art this next month!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

Copic Doodle Packs

May 26, 2017 |  by  |  Copics, Doodling  |  No Comments

Do you know a friend who would love to experiment with Copics and is wary to make the investment, or would you love to give a small sampling of Copic goodness to a friend, relative or neighbor? I have a fun, easy solution for you! A Copic Doodle Pack! They come in 4 pc sets that include 2 Ciao markers, 1 Multiliner and 1 atYou Spica, and they also come in 7 piece sets as well. The 7 piece sets consist of 5 Ciao markers and 2 multilines. What a fun way to start experimenting with Copic without a huge investment, and still really get a feel for them!

I played with the Yellow 4 piece set and really had a good time! I sketched a daffodil in pencil –

Went over my lines with the warm gray Multiliner and erased my lines –

Then used the two yellow Ciao markers to color and shade my flower –

Even with only two markers I was able to get some wonderful dimension. Then I added a touch of sparkle with the beautiful atYou Spica glitter pen –

The packs come in a range of colors including a 7 pack of skin colors. you could get a wide range of skin tones with only 5 markers if you are unsure of that take a peek back at one of my other posts about just that! I featured a whole range of Copic skin tones using only a small pack of 6 Ciao markers.

Fun Copic goodness all tucked together in a cute pack Copic Doodle Packs!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!

Kirarina 2Win – Oil Based

April 25, 2017 |  by  |  Copics, Doodling, Scrapbooking  |  No Comments

Have you tried any of the Kirarina pens yet? I have had a chance to play with a few more of mine and test them out a bit on different surfaces and they are a lot of fun! Kirarina makes several different styles of pens and each is suited for different things. All are fun bright colors that make you want to reach for another to keep playing. I have been using the Kirarina 2Win for a while now in my planner, the highlighter plus coordinating writing end make them absolutely perfect for the job and I love having all m activities color coded 🙂

I am newer to the Kirarina 2win Oil based pens so I really wanted to start by experimenting with the pens to see what and where they would go! Like the 2Win these pens have 2 nibs that are slightly different in color, however unlike the 2 Win the Oil-Based 2Win’s nibs are both small bullet nibs, so no change in size or shape. The Oil-Based pens come in 34 colors (17 pens, each with two colors in them) and a black. The black pen has a bullet nib and a fine tip sketch nib for writing.

Kirarina1

The benefit of the Kirarina 2Win Oil based is in the “oil-based” portion of the name. Because this pen is not water based like so many others it will go where others will not.

I tried writing on Photographs:

I also wrote on a very old acetate made for scrapbooking, this one was designed by Fancy pants and I just added the lettering in amongst the doodling that was already on the plastic sheet:

Kirarina4

Then I tried adding a little word art onto a plastic page sleeve. To be honest I was going to try a transparency but my entire box of them disappeared and this was the closest thing I could find! I created the word art on a sheet of graph paper:

Kirarina5

Then slid it into the bottom corner of the paper protector and went over the lines with me Kirarina 2Win Oil-Based pens, I love how it turned out!

Kirarina2

I could see using these on class or a sturdier plastic to hang in a window. The thinner plastic will work great as a layer over a card front or scrapbook page.

I had a lot of fun playing with these new to me pens and will surly come back to them! Imagination International, Inc. carries both of the Kirarina 2Win pen lines and has more fun ideas for playing with them as well.

If you would like to see the Oil-Based in action, I will show you how I made the above projects in a video at Copic In The Craft Room next week!

Have a Happy Colorful Week!
