Oodles of Doodles Workshop (self-paced)

In my work as an art teacher in elementary, middle, and high schools, I’ve discovered that 90% of people doubt their ability to draw. Students of all ages assure me they’re not artists. Upon discovering my profession many adults say, “I can barely draw stick figures.”

I firmly believe that everyone can learn some of the basics of drawing. Doodling is a fun and easy place to start–which is just what I’ll be teaching in “Oodles of Doodles.” You’ll master 18 different patterns to use alone or in combination with others for eye-catching results. I’ll also be sharing inspiration and instruction for ways to use your drawings on scrapbook pages, introductory lessons for drawing facial features, detailed how-tos for making tessellations, and much more.

Six lessons teach:

  • 18 repetitive patterns to use alone or in combination on your pages and projects
  • inspiration and instruction for using doodles on backgrounds, white space, photos, borders, frames and embellishments
  • instruction on how to draw eyes, mouths, noses, ears and an entire face
  • detailed step-by-step how-to for creating tessellations (think M C Escher)

In addition to learning a new technique, you might also discover how relaxing it can be to create with repetitive patterns (that’s why they’re calling doodles “zen”-tangles lately)!
